Comment by Brian Zebeaune on November 7, 2011 at 1:44am You simply need to start practicing your sense of rhythm. One trick I have discovered myself is to focus on synchronizing your strumming "beats" with the step of your foot. When you can sync those two, somehow the sense of tempo comes naturally as a result. So just practice stepping your foot while you are playing and sync your strumming hand with your foot.
Rhythm is more important than how many cords you can play.

Comment by Brian Zebeaune on November 6, 2011 at 3:11pm Hello Mitchelle and welcome to Songwriter Workshop!
Thanks so much for sharing your song with us, let me give you some things you can use to move forward with your music.
First I think it is very interesting to have a songwriter from the Philippines here with us. For me it's very exciting!
Try to record your song again and this time
1) tune your guitar. Perhaps buy a tuner for that. Most guitarists use them and they are not expensive.
2) try to think about the rhythm / the tempo / the beat. Perhaps step your foot the tempo you want to keep and they sync your strumming with your hand.
I would love to hear the song again in a new recording. And what is the text about?
