I have to admit that I'm watching this one again ... I love it, love it, love it ...and now it's gonna get stuck in my head until we open up the songwriter workshop later tonight in Kreuzberg :)))

@ Jona, I'm glad that it's your most recent work that I like the most :) later - rolf

@ Brian "Refuge" is extremely simpel as well, but does it for me big time. But you are right about Songwriter Workshop - it's a good point :) cheers

@Rolf ha ha, ok. Well I'm afraid to push play cause I had the damn thing on repeat in my head all day yesterday :).

To me the use of simplicity in the song is hypnotic and communicates some kind of quiet passion.

But this is what has always made the concept of a songwriter workshop work as a concept: you always get conflicting feedback and that's great that there is never any real overall consensus which might put pressure on us to shape a song in one particular way :). Miss my bio-boddies (!) as well :)

The thing to remember is, 'I'm a Leopard' is an old song with a few new vocals etc for a double album of early Melbourne recordings called 'Bovine'...an album i have been working on for 5 years and it's lost momentum, however 'Refuge' is from my new recordings in Iceland done last year, along with a bunch of others and it's an album im yet to finish this year...maybe you're hearing new inspiration verses 'old'. Yep, i produce and record all the music myself and i also produce other artists...currently working on Kat Garden's new album and Our Blanket Skies here in Berlin. @Brian, I just did and I don't think it will, no: I know it wont. The verse is interesting for me the first time around, the chorus and lead guitar in the chorus is unexciting right off the bat. savner min bio-buddy :)

Jona, I love that song Refuge, wow! the hu-part is breathtaking. If most songs are like that on your record I'm gonna buy the damn thing. Do you mix and produce yourself also? The video is great again. I didn't like the close ups in the beginning of the map and of the girl - important that she is a fleeting glimpse (like the rest). The two elements seem at odds with the rest. cheers - rolf

The song is monotone however I dare you to give it a second and a third listen Rolf, it'll haunt you for the rest of the day.

Jona, you can embed videos inhere also. If it's the old Flash YouTube you simply paste it right in along side the text, if it's the modern HTML5 with "iFrame" code then you need to hit "HTML" in the text box toolbar and paste it there.

Hi Rolf, thanks for the feedback. Glad you like the video...it's true the song is not the greatest in the world but it was actually edited and i'm happy with it for what it is. I made the video myself yes...I am also into video production. Here's my latest video, not shot on my HD Sony cam but an iPhone 3GS - http://vimeo.com/19998616

Cheers! jb

Video is sublimely beautiful. Who conceived and shot this? Is this professionally done, or is this home video by the artist? Good voice but the melody and arrangement bores me a little bit: There seems to be a downward movement of everything all the time. The sound has a fat, warm intimacy that is very reminiscent of American Music Club. Good.
