This one goes out to the Germans.
I was recently made aware of the existence of a Composer Club in Germany. I've been asking around in my German music circles and no one knew anything about a club for composers. Now the "funny" thing about this is that it was a Norwegian girl who told me about the German Composers Club.
The reason why I was asking around in the first place is that I am a member of a Composer Club in Denmark. This club provides me with legal and financial consultation and I can apply for financial support for music projects (and I usually get it). There more important thing about the club is that it works on a political level to make sure that I as a songwriter/composer have the best conditions to continue my work: meaning royalties, concert rates etc.
My German could be much better but from what I could read on
www.composers-club.de, you get consultation with a lawyer, help with contracts (such as production contracts) and they are trying to fix some royalty rates with GEMA.
Germans. Have a look at their website and maybe post a little article here on SW. It would be interesting to know more about it.
