Introduce yourself:: I am a Bi-coastal International Man of Mystery: first 19 years in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York, then 16 years in Santa Cruz, California, then a year in London, and now I live in Berlin.

I've been playing music since I started banging out Beatles tunes on the piano at age 7. Been writing songs seriously since age 16, and I have about 80 songs in my catalog (but don't ask me to play them all!).

I have a degree in music and a degree in Community Studies (with a focus on teenagers and the Performing Arts). I have two albums, one live and one studio, and have been gigging seriously for over 10 years. I have played shows all over the US, Canada, UK, Berlin, Spain, Denmark, and I have been commissioned for theater and dance productions.

I taught guitar, piano, voice and songwriting for 8 years in private lessons, and have been involved with a couple really productive songwriting groups/clubs over the years, one of which is the Immersion Composition Society (www.ics-hub.org).

I still struggle with songwriting, and STILL feel strongly that I have yet to really find my truest voice and I have yet to find a truly strong, consistent composing method or routine. And most importantly, I have yet to find my true musical soul mates, "my band" or group of collaborators....a problem many people are talking about it seems.

I play a Santa Cruz Guitar Company hand made acoustic, an old German mandolin, a borrowed midi-capable electric piano, and all the software instruments on Garageband (I am a drummer as well, but currently only own the virtual drum kits on GB). At home I record with Garageband on my ancient iBook G4 and the indispensable BLUE Snowball USB mic.
