Hey kids,
I was just foolin' around with a "logo" idea for my singer/songwriter self. Not really a "brand" per se, but maybe something new for my myspace, for giving out stickers around town. For now its just black on white, but who knows. Let me know what you think.

pretty nice, i really like it that way
thanks Stephen and Nami! On Nami's suggestion, I started customizing the font style a bit...just started carving into the e and the s. So fun! I love Adobe Illustrator! I think it looks more unique and interesting now.......now just a few more hours and I'll have the other letters done....

so...check out the new one...above
I'm sorry to be negative, but I owe it to your brilliant music ;) - Zebeaune don't like it :(
thanks for the honesty. but you should post the second one (4 posts up.....BTW how did you do that?). Its a bit better. Then tell me what about it doesn't work for you.
I really like the font design and to an extend also the hand drawn lines though it looks a bit too scribbled for me. Maybe try and go for more depth perspective with the way the lines come in behind each other. Try and fill it with colours just for fun.

BTW. If you need a small print run of stickers (let's say under a 1000) I can always give you a good price. This goes for all of you.

PS. Check out the sexy version ;-)

woah! super sexy......beastial. You da man with your fancy tricks. I'm just going for a basic black-on-white image/concept/font that can be made more colorful or tweaked or kept simple depending on the usage. So, also maybe you have some good tools to recommend for flashing shit up when needed! But definitely the drawn lines are a rough draft and should be refined a bit. Kinda going for a unique, simple-but-edgy/arty texture there....somewhat akin to what Radiohead has done with their art.
latest version (I admit it, I'm addicted....getting my visual art fix fer sure): font improvement (I think), and drawn lines slightly smoothed out. FEEL FREE TO RIFF OFF OF THIS IF YOU ARE INSPIRED. I am well aware that doing one's own logo is a bit limited. I will be sending this also to pro graffic designers whose work with musicians I like. Thx!

I've definitely thought about that. But mostly this is supposed to be my sign (schild?), something tasteful and unique that announces myself and imprints into people's minds something original but not too far out. At least for now as part of my new home-made portfolio, which would hopefully get me some work so I can afford a real graphic designer some day.

I also am just following my instincts on what feels right. I like the line-drawn background because it suggests a subtle flowing texture, a landscape, that leaves a lot to the imagination, AND is very simple and easy to put on many mediums. On a website it can tricked out in colors and effects if need be....but on a sticker or a poster it would remain simple, an interesting font, with the big customized e and s, plus the unique background that suggests something rippling deeper than the name.

But of course, that may be all just in my head!
